Genesis were formed by frontman Peter Gabriel, keyboardist Tony Banks, bassist/guitarist Mike Rutherford and guitarist Anthony Phillips at Charterhouse School, Surrey. The line-up stabilised in 1971 after Steve Hackett replaced Phillips and Phil Collins joined as a drummer. The group survived Gabriel's departure in 1975, and the following year Collins become lead singer. Hackett left in 1977, reducing the group to a trio of Banks, Rutherford and Collins. British prog rock band Genesis have announced that they will reunite for a series of UK stadium shows in November and December. “There’s a Genesis sound which is still there,” said guitarist Mike Rutherford. “I missed it, it’s nice to play it again. The group said that they would be joined by Phil Collins’ 18-year-old son Nicholas on drums for the shows. “He plays like me and he kind of has the same attitude as me,” said Collins. “So that was a good starter.”
